Silverbirch Deep Dish Canoe Yoke

The Silverbirch Deep Dish Yoke is a replacement or upgraded carrying yoke designed to improve comfort when carrying your canoe on your shoulders. Its deeply sculpted, three-dimensional profile provides a broader, more supportive contact area than a basic flat yoke, helping distribute the canoe’s weight more evenly during solo carries and portages. Silverbirch describes its deep-dish yokes as considerably more comfortable than conventional alternatives.

It is ideal for replacing a tired, damaged or broken yoke, or for paddlers who regularly carry their canoe between the vehicle and water, around obstacles or along longer portage routes.

Choose from three wooden constructions:

• Ash
• Cherry
• Ash and Cherry two-tone

The yoke is designed primarily for Silverbirch canoes and is supplied oversized so it can be cut down to the required width during installation. It may be suitable for some other canoe brands after careful measuring and trimming, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed. Oversized deep-dish yokes are commonly supplied this way so the ends can be trimmed for the individual canoe.

Please note: mounting bolts, washers and other fittings are not included. Check your canoe’s internal width and existing mounting points before cutting or drilling. Once trimmed, the yoke should be positioned so the canoe balances correctly when carried.
